Giovanni Salviato, better known as Venetian-born DJ 1979, began releasing music
in 2015 but had his first taste of international fame in 2018 by way of driving
techno anthem "Space Cake." The Amsterdam-based club DJ – who has released music
on labels including fryhide and Klangwelt – dropped his debut Endless EP in
2015, serving up three tracks of wafting electronica. However, he put himself on
the map with 2017 single "Prototipo," and its accompanying eponymous EP, both
