Regional Mexican act Alacranes Musical was formed in the Chicagoan suburbs of
Aurora, Illinois, in 1996. They are known for their Duranguense style, a mix of
technobanda and tamborazo born in the state of Durango in the early 1990s. The
band, led by Emiliano Martínez and featuring members like Oscar Urbina Jr. and
Gabriel Díaz, made its debut in 1999 with the album Pa' Que Son Pasiones.
Subsequent releases such as A Paso Firme in 2006, which featured a mix of polka,
cumbia, and ballads, solidified their place in the music scene thanks to popular
