Chihiro Yamanaka
Born in Kiryū, Japan on December 26, 1974, Chihiro Yamanaka is a jazz pianist
and composer. After winning a competition in Japan at the age of 12, she trained
at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Berklee College of Music in
Boston, where she graduated in 2000. Returning to Japan, she became a popular
artist in her homeland, releasing critically acclaimed albums for Verve Records
such as Outside by the Swing (2005), Abyss (2007), After Hours (2008), and
