Country music
One of the leading exponents of white soul-blues. As a teenager, he occasionally accompanied the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson and Lightnin' Hopkins. He was a talented harmonica player, and legend has it that he gave John Lennon lessons on "Love Me Do". McClinton's solo career, which began in 1975 with the album Victim Of Life's Circum-stances, is marked by a fusion of Southern funk and country-soul. Highlights include "Two More Bottles Of Wine", covered by Emmylou Harris, and "B Movie Boxcar Blues", used in the Blues Brothers film of the same name.
