Jesse Powell – born on September 12, 1971, in Gary, Indiana – was a
Grammy-nominated R&B singer with a four-octave range best known for his 1999 hit
“You.” The brother of R&B duo Trina & Tamara, he began his musical career
singing in a group with his sisters and brother Jacob. Discovered by producer
Louis Silas, he was signed to the Silas Records label, which was distributed by
MCA. His 1996 self-titled debut album was released in 1996 and reached Number 35
