Lee Fields is something of a forgotten soulman and funk legend. Always in the
shadow of the great James Brown, so much so that he was nicknamed "Little J.
B.", the North Carolina native (born in Wilson, North Carolina, in 1950) has
nevertheless enjoyed a prolific career since 1969. In four decades, he has
released albums on a dozen different labels and has sung and played with Kool &
The Gang, Sammy Gordon and Litlle Royal. He made it to the top of the charts
