Mexican indie rockers Porter began playing together in Guadalajara in 2004. Originally an instrumental band, the group consisted of Fernando de la Huerta and Victor Valverde on guitar, Juan Pablo Vázquez on drums, and Saúl Figueroa on bass. The lineup was completed with the addition of vocalist Juan Son and, a year later, Porter released their debut EP Donde los Ponys Pastan, which gave the band its first taste of national fame with the radio hit "Espiral."
