Formed in Tokyo in 2001, Soil & "Pimp" Sessions is a Japanese alternative jazz
combo. Initially featuring frontman Shacho, trumpeter Tabu Zombie, pianist
Josei, bassist Akita Goldman, drummer Midorin, and saxophonist Motoharu, the
group cut its teeth in the jazz clubs of Tokyo and began playing national
festivals in 2003, with the debut EP Pimpin' arriving in 2004. Pimp Master, the
group's first full-length release, followed in 2005 and earned the band an
international audience, paving the way for a prolific career that would find
